A fast mountain stream flows through the village. » Description Lech is recognised as one of the most picturesque alpine villages in Austria, its origins dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries. However, in summer there are excursions to Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany; local scenic tours are also on offer. » Skiing Descsription Lech has 11 drag-lifts, 18 chair-lifts and 5 cable cars, all easily accessible from the village; also easy access via the Rufikopf lifts to the huge Arlberg circuit with its 83 lifts. Arlberg Ski-Card lift pass incorporates resorts of Lech, Zurs, Stuben, St Christoph and St Anton. 3 ski-schools with 250 instructors cover Lech and Oberlech. Approximately 50 well-positioned snow cannons ensure good conditions down to valley level until late in the season, whatever the weather. Over 70 mls of marked piste, with 5 black, 19 red and 25 blue runs, plus easy access to the vast Arlberg ski-area. Oberlech offers a variety of easy blue runs. Around 12 mls of cross-country trails.
