Kandersteg is an attractive village surrounded by wonderful mountain scenery, which has preserved its original Swiss character, and enchants visitors with its relaxed and friendly atmosphere. This unspoilt village with its picture-book chalets offers the traditional all-round winter holiday - a perfect place to try snow-shoe walking or nordic walking! The skiing is ideal for complete beginners or for second year skiers wanting easy skiing at a gentle pace, and the cross-country trails are superb. An excellent weekly programme gives visitors the opportunity to experience all sorts of winter activities, from curling to ice-climbing, whilst rail links to other places of interest in the local area are very good. Après-ski in Kandersteg is low key and informal, with good restaurants, cafés and bars.
