Following ongoing financial difficulties, the directors of the British Ski and Snowboard Federation, trading as Snowsport GB, have confirmed that the organisation has gone into administration
In an official statement from Snowsport GB on Friday 5 February it was confirmed that company directors had taken "the difficult decision to place the organisation into administration with immediate effect".
The statement said that administrators from BDO have been appointed and will commence proceedings from Friday.
Snowsport GB has also confirmed that the situation will not affect the 14 ski and snowboard athletes, including Ski Club sponsored rider Ed Drake and recent World Cup podium placer Ben Kilner, selected to Team GB.
The statement added that the British Olympic Association (BOA) will be "handling all arrangements" for the 14 athletes participating in the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. The BOA had previously announced that it had a contingency plan ready should Snowsport GB go into administration.
"The BOA will immediately put in place a contingency plan to ensure that the interests of the athletes are protected" said a statement from the BOA on Friday 5 February. "The BOA will ensure that the athletes and their accredited coaches and support personnel have the resources and logistical support necessary to compete at their highest level in Vancouver".
The Snowsport GB directors added that they wished the athletes "every success at the Games".
