Future of Metro Ski & Board Show is secured
Damian Norman who headed up the buyout, which includes The Vitality Show and The Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show, has been managing Sport and Leisure as a DMG world media employee since 2008. “To acquire a division that’s been nominated for 12 awards in the last 2 years is a fantastic opportunity" he said. "With the wealth of experience from the directors on board, VOS Media will continue to grow these very successful shows and take them in a new and exciting direction.”
Talks had been taking place regarding the move for a year and VOS Media, newly created by Norman, was finally incorporated this week. Tim Holmes, Show Manager for The Metro Ski and Snowboard Show said that the buyout was excellent news. “As a small, independent company we’ll have greater freedom to create a show that meets the needs of our exhibitors and visitors alike. Coupled with the vast experience of VOS Media’s backers this means The Metro Ski and Snowboard Show will be uniquely placed to support the UK snowsports industry.”
Henry Druce, editor of Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard added, “this is very good news as VOS Media is totally committed to maintaining the magazine’s very high editorial standards and continue developing our rapidly growing sister website, metrosnow.co.uk. The fresh input we’ll receive from VOS Media’s backers will help us to keep evolving our products in the most exciting ways possible.”
VOS Media will take ownership of the portfolio on 19th June and will be moving to new offices in Earls Court at the beginning of August.
